SKINNER’S FIELD AND TRIAL COMPLETE DRY AND WET DOG FOOD
Who are Skinner’s?
Skinner’s has been at the heart of Stradbroke, a Suffolk village, for seven generations and for the last 50 years they have been feeding dogs all over the country; becoming one of the most popular working dog foods in the country. Not only this, but they also support so many canine events and charities all over the country and you can see the friendly team at most canine and country-based events.
Did you know?
From 1900, Skinner’s produced a variety of animal feed in their mill including monkey nuts and cat food!
In 1971, the current Chairman; Roger Skinner, chose to focus on complete dog foods, where there were little competitors and to provide a dog food formulated with performance in mind.
By the 1980’s, Skinner’s complete dog food was in high demand and proved to be extremely popular with the satisfied customers.
In 1995, the Field & Trial feeds were produced. These were primarily for the working dog to ensure they could cope with a full day in the field. However, they can suit all working breeds from security to agility, to keep that stamina and focus.
By 1999, Skinner’s had a focus on helping the weaning of puppies and offered the ‘Puppy Pack Scheme’ to ensure new owners went home with the best they can have for their puppies.
To this day, their teams of professional nutritionists are on hand to provide nutritional advice to owners and handlers. The extensive range covers a wide range of dietary requirements.
Skinner’s understands each dog is different. From expectant mothers to the retired gundogs, their range is formulated to support dogs of all ages, breeds, activity level – with 2 diets even including Joint Aid for Dogs in their recipes.

Why we choose to feed Skinner’s to our dogs?
We use Skinner’s Field & Trial Duck & Rice on our security German Shepherd and have done since she was a puppy. Safe to say she looks fantastic and thrives on the quantity and quality of this brand.
We ourselves swear by the Duck & Rice Puppy, alongside the Skinner’s Puppy Milk powder. Every litter we have had, have been weaned this way, and we have been so proud of the quality of pups as well as the recovery of the Mother, using puppy food alongside Skinner’s Field & Trial Duck & Rice.
Many owners have commented they wouldn’t have known the Dam had had pups on collection day with their amazing condition and coat.
We have been using Skinner’s for a very long time and would never change. The reason for this? Because why change something that works.
We have ten dogs between us, and it is not often one type of food works for the whole team!
For the dogs in competition season, we like to add the new Skinner’s wet food to give that extra boost, especially with the young dogs keeping their condition whilst getting fit staying strong; but the shooting team thrive on Field & Trial Duck & Rice. Their coats, stamina and focus are all on point with perfect solid stools. Not only this, but I am also a nutrition geek myself and really do enjoy talking to the reps about the food, all whom are approachable and friendly. It keeps me tip top with my knowledge for my clients and new puppy owners.
